Matthew Nathan
Crown Prosecutor, Meredith Connell 

Matthew is a Special Counsel in Meredith Connell’s Criminal Specialist Group, and is a highly experienced trial and appellate lawyer.  Having worked for over 20 years as a prosecutor in Australia, Matthew was appointed Senior Counsel in 2015 and Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions for the Northern Territory of Australia in 2018.  In 2019 he was elected President of the Australian Association of Crown Prosecutors, a position he held until joining Meredith Connell.

Matthew has appeared as lead counsel across a wide array of criminal matters including homicides, serious sexual offending, organised crime and complex fraud.  He also has extensive experience in the appellate jurisdiction having regularly appeared in the Court of Appeal and High Court of Australia.
